Schema Markup And Structured Data Implementation
Make machines understand what your pages and your business actually are.
Most schema implementations are a pile of disconnected blocks that repeat the same facts and link to nothing. Done properly, structured data is a single connected graph describing your organisation, pages and content, and it now matters as much for AI answer engines as for rich results.
You probably need this if
- You have schema but no rich results appear
- Search Console reports structured data errors or warnings
- Every template outputs the same generic Organization block
- AI assistants describe your business inaccurately
What you get
- Entity graph design with stable identifiers linking your organisation, site and pages
- Template-level schema implementation across every page type
- Rich result eligibility for the types that genuinely apply to you
- Validation against both the Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator
- Monitoring so errors surface before they cost you rich results
How we approach it
-
Model the entities
Define what your organisation, services, locations and content actually are, and how they relate, before writing any markup.
-
Build a linked graph
Use stable identifiers so nodes reference each other rather than repeating the same facts in every block.
-
Implement per template
Add markup at the template level so it stays correct as content changes, instead of hand-writing it per page.
-
Validate and monitor
Check every type against the official validators and monitor for errors after deployments.
Schema Markup: common questions
Does schema markup improve rankings?
Not directly. It does not act as a ranking signal, but it earns rich results that materially improve click-through rate, and it helps search engines and AI systems understand your entity. In practice that produces more traffic at the same position.
Which schema types actually matter?
Organization and WebSite on every site, LocalBusiness if you serve a physical area, Product and Offer for ecommerce, Article for editorial, FAQPage where you genuinely answer questions, and BreadcrumbList throughout. Anything beyond that is usually decoration.
Does FAQ schema still show rich results?
Google restricted FAQ rich results in 2023 to well-known authoritative government and health sites, so most businesses no longer earn the visual treatment. The markup remains worth implementing because it helps AI answer engines extract your answers cleanly.
